Sandy Melroy
Silk Painting
Sandy Melroy loves scarves, silk and creating unique
one-of-a-kind pieces.  Her background in textiles led her
to explore the unique way in which painting on silk can
lend some wonderful results in wearable arts. Each silk
scarf starts out with a piece of 100% white silk with hand
rolled edges. The design is painted on with water based
textile paints, and heat set for permanence. The scarves
are as unique as their designer and their future owner,
and are hand numbered and signed by the artist.
A southern girl at heart, Sandy has lived in
many locations in the U.S. and the U.K.,  and
happily now calls De Pere, Wisconsin home.
She is very supportive of arts in the
community, is active on several volunteer
boards, and encourages everyone to find
their creative side through classes or
through accessorizing.  Sandy teaches silk
painting workshops at the ARTgarage in
Green Bay, Wisconsin. Visit the website,
